Fresh Basil Vinaigrette

As the summer winds down, many of us have an abundance of fresh basil available in our gardens. I know I do. This is a perfect time to blend up a quick and easy basil vinaigrette that can be used as a salad dressing, a marinade, or sauce for fish, chicken, potatoes and anything else you can imagine.

In this recipe, I combine fresh, sweet Italian basil with balsamic vinegar, olive oil, shallot, lemon juice, sea salt and freshly ground black pepper to create an addictive, sweet and tangy basil vinaigrette that I just love and think you will too.
