For many, visual cues are helpful when learning new lifting techniques. If you want to know what an efficient squat looks like, observe a baby/toddler squatting – he/she will have perfect squatting form almost every time!
Note: Use common sense here. Before you dash off to a local park to check out some neighborhood kids playing, make sure you get permission first.😋 Don’t just sneak up on a random child to watch him/her doing his/her thing – you do not want to get pinned as a toddler-squat-watching-creeper! There is no guarantee that the cops will believe you when you tell them that you were just “checking out the kid’s squatting technique.”

Each person is unique in their medical histories and ability levels – and we all need to respect this by stepping away from a one-size-fits-all approach. Do not force the process. Do what works for you, work hard at making positive changes and be consistent while doing so. Attention to mobility, flexibility and strength work combined with consistent practice may lead to baby-like squatting in your future. Woohoo!
